Day 34: A Prayer for Secondary Educators

Section 6: For Our School Systems

Join with us today and pray our prepared prayer written by and  for Secondary Educators from the FORTY DAYS OF PRAYER FOR EDUCATION free eBook.

A PRAYER FOR SECONDARY EDUCATORS

Dear heavenly Father,

We humbly come before You acknowledging that You are King of kings and Lord of lords. You have created this world that we might have dominion to reflect the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth. We acknowledge that through the sin of one, we handed over our authority to satan, but through the holiness and redemptive power of another, Your Son Jesus the Christ, we have been given the authority to take back what was ordained for all of mankind.

As we repent and turn from our ways which are displeasing in Your sight and grievous to the Holy Spirit, we thank you for covering us with the blood of Jesus and gifting us with your mercy and grace. When and where we as officials, administrators and secondary educators have not administered the love, mercy and grace that you have given us, dear Lord, please forgive us.

Give us, as educators and administrators the strength to be bold enough to let our light shine so that we may draw others to Christ. Illuminate our assignments that we may act in accordance to Your will with assurance, decency and order. Your word says that You have given us everything pertaining to life and godliness. Therefore, we call upon the character of love, and humility that You have already placed in us through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit to be made manifest in us at our workplace.

Lead us and guide us in all truth and compel us to show your character at all times, not just when it is convenient. Compel us to make every effort to add to our faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if we possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep us from being ineffective and unproductive in our knowledge of You.

Our God, we pray that all of the governing officials in our surrounding localities would recognize Your sovereignty, Almighty God and seek Your face concerning all laws, finances and decisions that affect education. Bless our Governor, senators, mayors, delegates, superintendents, deans, professors and school building administrators with Godly leadership, a spirit of unity and a hunger and thirst for righteousness.

We ask that in accordance to Proverbs 9:10 that all of the administrators in our area schools would have wisdom in decision-making that is pleasing to You and is best for the students in addition to wisdom to lead God’s people. For the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. We ask that you would help our school and government officials to realize that school is not a “testing grounds” but a place to “mold the whole child” in a growing, learning and discovering environment.

It is our desire that you reveal all truth in our government so that nothing is hidden according to 1 Corinthians 2:10. Open up the eyes, ears and hearts of Your officials. Reveal these things by Your Spirit. For Your Spirit searches out everything and show the hidden things of God.

Place Your men and women in leadership positions who have a heart filled with love for people and Your will rather than for money or power. For those that you currently have in positions of authority, we ask that you would empower them to be bold enough to change the culture and mindset of our schools to reflect the will of God. We pray that everyone that comes in contact with our school systems have a Godly influence on our children, parents, teachers and all other staff. Encourage our leaders to open the door for churches to partner with area schools and cover them in prayer.

Because You are God and You are always victorious, we your people, claim the victory over incompetent leaders, insufficient funding, and the spirits of disunity, illiteracy, poverty, racism, separatism, violence and rebellion. We rebuke all foul spirits, familiar spirits and we wipe clean the slate of the enemy and the workers of iniquity who seek to destroy our children, educators and the plans of God for the influence of education to impact the Kingdom of God. We claim the victory over the subtlety of the enemy to comprise the morals of our children through the media, the arts and entertainment. We counteract those evil spirits with the Holy Spirit, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord by those Saints who trust and believe in His word. We lay hold to all of God’s precious promises concerning those who diligently seek His face and are called by His name.

In the name of Jesus, our Lord, Savior, the Lamb of God to whom all power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory and praise is due. We thank You.

Amen
